Ibom Air has announced a major milestone in its growth journey, welcoming its 5,000,000th passenger on 25 September 2026.
A statement signed by Aniekan Essienette, Group Manager, Marketing and Communication for the airline said the milestone was reached on 25th September 2026, on Ibom Air’s 65,787th scheduled commercial flight since inception.
This achievement, she said reflects the enduring trust and confidence that passengers continue to place in Ibom Air and reinforces the airline’s commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and customer-focused air transport services across its network.
“Reaching five million passengers is strong evidence of our customers’ loyalty, our employees’ dedication, and the support of our partners and stakeholders, who have contributed to the airline’s steady growth and success.
“As Ibom Air celebrates this landmark accomplishment, the airline remains focused on strengthening connectivity through offering schedule reliability, on-time departures, and excellent service for our passengers.”, the airline said.
The airline began commercial operations seven years ago having operated its inaugural flight from Uyo to Lagos on June 7, 2019
Ibom Airlines Limited is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Akwa Ibom State Government. It aims to set the standard as the airline of choice for passengers by focusing on schedule reliability, on-time departures, and excellent service.
Its fleet currently comprises seven Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Regional Jet CRJ 900s and three Airbus A220-300s, serving seven domestic destinations and Accra, Ghana.
