The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has explained that an Ethiopian Airline flight with registration number ET 901 flying from Addis Ababa to Lagos on Wednesday,  landed safely at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos after trying to land earlier in a bad weather.

The flight, which tried to land at about 1157hours had earlier mis-approached due to bad weather and immediately went up to position properly for landing.

The aircraft, it said, landed safely at exactly 12.13hours and parked at gate E63.

The Ethiopian flight had departed Lagos for Addis Ababa at 1351hours.

A statement signed by Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, General Manager, Public Affairs, FAAN’s , said the Authority is committed to the safety and comfort of its passengers and airport users.

The Travel Port gathered earlier that former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Director of Ports Inspection, National Agency For Food And Drug Administration And Control (NAFDAC), Prof Samson Tunde Adebayo, Director General of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) Ambassador Ayoola Olukanni, were among the 393 passengers being ferried from Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa.

Obasanjo, it was gathered, had attended a Stakeholders Dialogue on Continental Trade and Strengthening Implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) which ended on Tuesday in Addis Ababa.
