Arik Air management, Old Mutual Insurance and Risk Analysts Insurance Brokers, on Monday, took time to explain the benefits of the new customized domestic travel insurance of the airline to the travelling public.
According to Funmi Babington-Ashaye, Managing Director, Risk Analysts Insurance Brokers, the policy provides cover against accidents resulting in damage to baggage, missing bags, flight cancellation/delays, medical expenses, permanent disablement or bodily injury within 90 days of the occurrence of the accident.
She said the cover is valid for such accidents occurring while aboard Arik Aircraft.
She explained that a passenger involved in personal accident in the course of the flight is entitled to N1 million claim adding that if the airline delays flight or cancel it for more than 8 hours, a passenger is entitled to N20, 000 per trip.
For emergency medical expenses, the airline would pay up to N50, 000 while a traveler is entitled to up to N20, 000 if his baggage is mishandled or gets missing.
He is also entitled to N20, 000 if his baggage is damaged.
