Dana Air has said it plans to expand its fleet and routes in 2024, promising better service to its teeming customers.

This is just as it has rewarded and appreciated its staff for unwavering support in the last 15 years of operations in Nigeria.

At the airline’s staff appreciation party in Lagos at the weekend, many of the staff were awareded for outstanding performances.

Speaking at the event, Ememobong Ettete, Accountable manager/Chief Operating Officer of the airline praised its customers for their loyalty, adding that they were the airline’s backbone during difficult times.

“2023 has been an eventful year. Dana Air came out of 2022 under a very difficult situation but we have stayed on course in 2023 because the passengers have had faith in us, we have kept flying because the passengers recognised Dana Air and it is the smartest way to fly and they said, ‘we are staying with you. As much as the terrain has been economically difficult, we owe it to our passengers to ensure that no matter what, we dig in deep and come out and satisfy them.

“2024 for Dana air promises growth. It is for route and fleet explanation. Then we will look at where we were. Dana Air in its 15 years have gone through the good, the bad and ugly experiences. We are learning from it all and we are planning and believing that in 2024 with a promise to our guests that we will learn from what we have gone through in the last 15 years and we will do better in the next 15 years. 2024 is the begining of the next 15 years and Dana Air will start from there and will do better.”, he said.

Etete however threw his weight behind the Minister’s plan to ensure passengers’ welfare by airlines and create an enabling environment for airlines’ survival.

“The new minister is doing a great job. He is looking at both airlines and passengers. He believes in the survival of the airlines while  passengers should be treated properly, so it’s better days for the passengers and for the airlines.”, he said.
