In a strong reaffirmation of its regional leadership, Air Peace Limited has once again been named Best West Africa Sub-Regional Airline of the Year at the 2026 Nigerian Aviation (NIGAV) Awards, marking a second consecutive win in the prestigious category.
The recognition, announced at the NIGAV Conference Centre in Ikeja, Lagos, underscores the airline’s sustained commitment to operational excellence, route expansion, and seamless connectivity across the West African corridor. It also reflects growing confidence in Air Peace’s ability to deliver reliable, safe, and customer-focused services within the sub-region.
The ceremony brought together top industry stakeholders, including representatives of the Enugu State Government, the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
Widely regarded as one of the aviation industry’s foremost platforms for excellence, the NIGAV Awards celebrate outstanding performance and innovation across Nigeria’s air transport ecosystem. Air Peace’s repeat win in this category highlights its consistency in setting benchmarks for regional aviation.
Speaking on the achievement, the airline’s spokesperson, Mr. Osifo-Whiskey Efe, described the award as a validation of the airline’s strategic focus on strengthening intra-African connectivity and enhancing passenger experience. He noted that the recognition reinforces Air Peace’s mission to bridge cities, foster economic integration, and elevate the standard of air travel within West Africa.
With a growing network and sustained investments in fleet modernization and service delivery, Air Peace continues to consolidate its position as a dominant force in regional aviation, steadily shaping the future of air travel across West Africa.
Earlier at the same event, the airline scooped six other awards in a single night; a record achievement that reinforces its leadership in safety, innovation, and service excellence.
Air Peace’s wins cut across major categories, including Airline Executive Chief of the Year (Dr. Allen Onyema, Chairman & CEO), Nigerian Commercial Airline of the Year, Nigeria’s Best West Africa Sub-Regional Airline of the Year, Best Air Travel Mobile App of the Year, Best In-flight Magazine (Alice Magazine), Best Airport Lounge of the Year, and Pilot of the Year (Male Category, Captain Callistus Ifeanyi).
Notably, three awards, including Dr. Allen Onyema’s leadership honour, Alice Magazine, and the West Africa Sub-Regional Airline title, were retained for a second consecutive year, underscoring consistency and sustained excellence.
The NIGAV Awards, now in its 15th edition, remain one of the industry’s most respected platforms for recognising excellence in safety, innovation, customer service, and operational performance.
Beyond the accolades, Air Peace continues to expand its domestic and international network, invest in modern fleet development, and enhance digital and premium services such as its unified customer messaging application and loyalty programme, positioning the airline for stronger global competitiveness.
With this seven-award triumph at NIGAV 2026, Air Peace not only consolidates its dominance in the Nigerian aviation landscape but also signals its readiness to compete at higher global standards.
