The 5th Airport Business Summit and Expo for Africa is to hold between July 30 – August 1, 2018, at Shehu Musa Yar’ Adua Centre , Central Area Abuja with the theme “Repositioning the Airport Business to Sustain Air Transport growth” , according to the organizers.
The summit, which has been tailored to close the gaps between air transport sector and the agro perishable goods production industries, will draw participants and exhibitors from across the world.
The three day conference and exhibition according to the summit director, Mr. Fortune Idu, is aimed at providing logistics that will allow seamless and fast air services support for local and international export while promoting total air transport development from the airport perspective.
Idu, an FCI International consult, stated that the summit, will also enable participants share thoughts and information in current challenges in the airport subsector of the aviation industry.
He said deliberation will be centered on helping operators, investors and the airport business community to find a common ground for prosperity adding that it will provide a veritable platform for reviving airport development policies, programmes and projects.

The summit Idu said is multi-sector in nature with about 200 delegates expected from all industries with direct and indirect dealing with the airports; airlines, retails, security, safety, technologist, media, taxi companies, hotels, tourist places among others.
The seminar, he said will feature presentation from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Nacho, SALCHOL, Ethiopian Airlines, Arik Air Nigeria Export Promoting Council, NEPZA, NAFADAC and Standard Organization of Nigeria to cover subjects such as processes, procedures, packages, containerization, standards, market and technologies available for enhancing agro export at the airport and possible further development opportunities.
Idu said the forum is important for the airport sub-sector to plan ahead and close gap that may hinder successful and seamless air agro export regime.
“Papers will be presented at the summit by heads of aviation industries to give insight to the future investment opportunities in Africa’s airports domain and to enable them position ahead of the development. The papers will help to boost the flying confidence in people, as speakers will try to tie the future prosperity of most Africa business and tourist cities to a successful airport system”
He explained that deliberation of the seminar and the summit will form part of the report that will be submitted towards airport privatization plan.
