Arik Air management said on Friday it has not increased in fares on any of its routes, especially the international routes, saying stories making the rounds about it are untrue.
Ola Adebanji, the airline spokesman said in a statement that it has also been charging fares in naira and based on the rate approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
He however advised customers to book their tickets on Arik Air website or with approved travel agencies and at the city booking cenres.
“Allegations making the rounds that Arik Air has increased fares on the London Heathrow, New York JFK and Johannesburg routes are untrue. We wish to make it clear that we have not increased fares on any of our routes (international, regional or domestic) in the recent past.
“Also, we charge our fares in Naira at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official rate.
Intending travelers are advised to book their tickets on line at www.arikair.com, Arik Air Airport and City Ticketing Offices or through IATA registered Travel Agents”, he said.
