A British Airways Abuja bound flight on Tuesday, returned to London Heathrow airport over technical fault in the aircraft.

 

Subsequently, the passengers could not make it to Abuja as scheduled due to the issue.

 

 

The flight, test.clinztouch.com learnt has been rescheduled to depart Heathrow by 8.40 pm and arrive Abuja by 4.30 am on Thursday.

 

 

The normal scheduled flight for Wednesday is expected to leave Heathrow at about 10 pm.

 

 

Commenting on the development, Kola Olayinka, regional commercial manager said in a  statement: “BA Flight heading to Abuja from London on Tuesday 26 Nov returned to Heathrow Airport after a ‘minor technical issue’ after being air borne.

 

‘The aircraft experienced a minor technical issue and our pilots elected to return to Heathrow’ In terms of the emergency services meeting the airplane, this is standard practice in this kind of situation’

 

“Our aircraft operating the BA083 returned to Heathrow as a precaution after experiencing minor technical issue. Our ground team looked after our customers last night providing them with overnight accommodation.

 

We apologise to our customers for the delay to their travel plans. This flight BA 083 is now expected to operate this evening from London Heathrow at 0830pm tonight and arrive Abuja tmrrw morning just before 5am. BA expects to depart tomorrow morning at 8am back to London. Customers are advised to check their flights detailed information on www.ba.com”, he said.

 

 

BA also spoke through the Quadrant company: “Our aircraft returned to Heathrow and was met by the emergency services as a precaution after experiencing a minor technical issue.

 

 

“Our teams looked after our customers last night, providing them with overnight accommodation. We’re sorry to our customers for the delay to their travel plans”, it added.
