The management of leading ground handling company, Skyway Aviation Handling Company PLC (SAHCO) at weekend, feted its muslim staff and business partners to a dinner organised to celebrate them
This is just as they have been urged to embrace the virtues of trust, honesty and sincerity in their engagements affirming that such noble acts are panacea for the growth of the company and lasting business relationships.
Speaking at a Sallah dinner held at the Lagos Marriott Hotels, Managing Director of Sahco, Mrs. Adenike Aboderin said the festive period present an opportunity for Muslims and Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love, genuine sacrifice and truthfulness in their business relationships and nation building.
Mrs. Aboderin said “we must inculcate the teachings and lessons of the Sallah festival by being honest in our dealings among ourselves as staff of SAHCO and in our relationships with our business partners. This way we will uphold the spirit of genuine sacrifice made by the Father of Faith, Prophet Abraham for which the Eid al-Adha commemorates.”
Also speaking, guest speaker at the occasion and a Muslim cleric, Dr Adeniyi Ojikutu Ahmed affirmed that the lessons of Eid al-Adha enjoined all Muslim faithful to make feast and make donations to the less privileged in the societies.
The cleric, who referenced Quranic verses, explained that Muslims must practice good deeds and uphold the commandments of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) at all time adding that it is incumbent on Muslims to show love to everyone in all their dealings.
Dr Ahmed said “God actually did not need the meat or blood of our rams, he simply want to see the piety in us, we must have the fear of God in our dealings with others, especially in businesses.
“We must be faithful in whatever we do so as to leave a lasting legacy behind us and a good name. Sallah has taught us that if you kill a ram, you are to take one third of it, share the remaining to neighbours and the needy ones in the society.
The spirit of Eid al-Adha is the very foundation every citizens of our beloved nation must abide, that is we must collectively make sacrifice for a greater good of our businesses and country.
Representatives of airlines, freight forwarders, clearing agents, cargo companies as well as aviation agencies commended SAHCO management for creating the enabling environment for cargo businesses to thrive in the aviation industry.
