The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), said it has reopened that the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja for normal operations after a 30 minutes closure due to the safety precautions taken after a jet operated by Nest Oil, skidded off the runway.

According to Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, FAAN’s spokesperson, the aircraft had lost its landing gear in the process, adding ‘all hands are on deck to put the situation under control and normalcy would be restored within the hour’.

“Management appreciates your understanding”, she added.
