The Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Farouk Umar Ahmed has announced the much-anticipated salary upgrade for the Agency’s staff.
He made the announcement while declaring open the maiden edition of the MD’s Median Football Competition at the Agency’s Corporate Headquarters, Abuja on Wednesday.
He revealed that the new salary structure, approved by the National Income, Salaries and Wages Commission, will be released on Friday, 29th August 2025.
The announcement was met with loud applause and cheers from staff present at the ceremony.
In his opening remarks, Engr. Ahmed expressed delight at the impressive turnout and enthusiastic participation of staff, describing the event as a historic milestone for the Agency.
According to him, this is the first sporting event of its kind in NAMA’s history, aimed at fostering unity among directorates and strengthening the bond between management and staff.
“This competition is not just about football; it is about breaking barriers, promoting teamwork, and creating a platform for greater understanding and collaboration across the Agency. It has come to stay and will now be an annual event organized by the Directorate of Public Affairs and Consumer Affairs,” he said.
The MD commended the Directorate of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection for the initiative, praising their efforts in conceptualising and delivering an event capable of enhancing harmony and morale within the workforce.
The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Musa Abdulahi in his remarks, appreciated the MD for his unwavering support and commitment, noting that Engr. Ahmed’s leadership has touched all facets of the Agency, including staff welfare and recreational activities.
He acknowledged the MD’s efforts in adjusting his busy schedule to personally flag off the event.
The ceremony climaxed with Engr. Ahmed performing the symbolic kickoff, officially opening the football tournament that promises to bring excitement and camaraderie to NAMA’s workforce.
