The Federal government on Friday sacked all the remaining seven directors in the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

 

The Travel Port learnt that of all the nine directorates in the Authority, two of them, Licensing and Aerodrome directors’ positions have been vacant, until Friday, when the other seven were relieved of their duties.

 

On Friday, Director Consumer Protection, Adamu Ahmed Abdullahi, Director of Air Transport Regulation, Justus O. Wariya, Director of Airworthiness Standards, Engr. Benedict Adeyileka, Director of General Aviation, Capt. Ayodele Oladipo Sasegbon and Director, Operations and Training, Capt. Abdullahi Maikano Sidi.

 

Others are Director, Human Resources, Austin-Amadi Hyacinth Ifeanyi, Director of Finance and Accounts, Alhaji Salawu Nuhu Ozigi, Director Aerodrome and Airspace Standards, Dr. Joyce Daniel Nkemakolam (whose position has been vacant), Director of Administration, Barr. Aba Ejembi and Director of Licensing, Mr. Emmanuel Ogunbambi (whose position has been vacant)

 

When contacted to confirm the story, Sam Adurogboye, NCAA spokesman said ‘it is true, I cannot say more than that’.

 

It was learnt that the affected directors were immediately ordered to handover to the most senior officer in their various directorates.

 

The sack is coming few months after the Federal government sacked the managing director of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr Emmanuel Anasi, and replaced him with Capt. Fola Akinkuotu, commissioner at Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), Dr. Felix Abali and replaced him with Engr. Akinola Olateru, the Rector of the Nigeria College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria, Capt. Samuel Caulcrick and replaced him with Abdusalam Muhammed.

 

The Director general, Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), Dr Anthony Anuforom was also replaced with Prof. Sani Abubakar Mashi as the DG of NCAA, Capt. Usman Muhtar and the Managing director of Fedfertal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Saleh Dunoma, are still being spared.
