This Summer,  KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Nigeria is creating an opportunity for its followers on Facebook to visit a loved one in London without having to worry about the cost of their ticket because it will be given to them free!

The campaign tagged #KLMTAKEMETOLONDON, is running from the 11 th to the 15 th of July 2016 while the grand finale will be taking place on the 16 th of July 2016 in Lagos and London simultaneously.

To be part of the campaign, participants will need to like the KLM Facebook page “KLMNigeria” then tag a friend or family member living in London with a response expressing their wish, KLM will in turn search for these friends or family members in London, the first person to be found is the winner for the day.

This exercise will run for 5 days, while on the 16 th of July 2016, all the daily qualifiers will participate in the grand finale where the final winners will emerge.

“KLM’s first flight ever was to London in 1920, that’s 96 years ago, and 27 years later KLM started operations to Nigeria. Hence, we have been connecting Nigeria & London for quite some time. However, more important than the flights are the persons involved and the stories behind their journeys. What made someone take a flight on KLM from Lagos to London say 50 years ago? To visit a friend, celebrate a special occasion with family, a business opportunity… Are these reasons any different today?

“For us at KLM we are happy and grateful to have so many people allowing KLM to be part of their experiences, though it might be for just a few hours in the air, that’s where these stories start”, the airline said.

In today’s world especially with social media like Facebook , it is much easier to stay in touch than back in 1947.

However @KLM we believe nothing beats the real thing, hence what better way to bring these two together we thought!” Arthur Dieffenthaler, Commercial Director, Air France KLM Nigeria & Ghana.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines was founded in 1919, making it the world’s oldest airline still operating under its original name.

In 2004, Air France and KLM merged to form AIR FRANCE KLM.

The merger produced the strongest European airline group based on two powerful brands and hubs – Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Paris Charles de Gaulle. Retaining its own identity, the group focuses on three core businesses: passenger transport, cargo and aircraft maintenance. In the Netherlands, KLM comprises the core of the KLM Group, which further includes KLM Cityhopper, transavia.com and Martinair.

KLM serves all its destinations using a modern fleet and employs over 33,000 people around the world. KLM is a leader in the airline industry, offering reliable operations and customer-oriented products resulting from its policy of enthusiasm and sustainable innovation.
