Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria ( (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Oluwaseun Kuku has called on the new 201 Aviation Security (AVSEC) cadets who graduated from FAAN training facility on Tuesday, to exhibit professionalism and good conduct as they begin a new journey in safeguarding Nigeria’s airports.
Speaking during the graduation/induction ceremony of STP 123 Basic Course for 201 Aviation Security Cadets, she urged them to commit all civil aviation regulations to heart and be as watchful as the eagle.
“To our new inductees, I congratulate you. Your training has been extensive and challenging, but crucial in preparing you to be the vigilant sentinels of our skies. As you step forward into this noble role, I urge you to embody the highest ñ of integrity and professionalism, remembering that the safety and confidence of our passengers rest in your capable hands.
“You, dear Cadets, are our eyes and ears. Commit all our civil aviation regulations to heart and be as watchful as the eagle. Each time a plane takes to the skies or lands safely, acknowledge that you played a vital role in making it happen. I look forward to seeing you in the field with a smile on your faces and wish you the very best in your chosen careers.”, she said.
While reiterating that FAAN will continue to prioritise the safety, security and comfort of passengers and other stakeholders, she said : ours is a noble commission and the management and staff are wholly committed to excellence in public service delivery.

“This ceremony not only marks a significant milestone in your careers but also in the journey of FAAN towards bolstering the nation’s aviation security. It iis also one of our strategic responses to the increase in volume of passengers using our airports.
“Permit me to remind us that the safety and security of lives and property is at the core of our business. As such, we deploy all human and material resources to ensure we provide the nation with the best trained personnel to carry out our various job functions with an emphasis on Aviation Security.”, she said.
Kuku expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinibu for improving the fortunes of the sector and raising its ycontribution to the nation’s Gros Domestic Product (GDP).
“I wish to use this platform to express our profound gratitude to the President and Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for all his input, encouragement and support in improving the fortunes of the Aviation Industry and raising our contribution to the National GDP. We also thank the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, for giving us all the necessary support and guidance.”, she added.
