Engr Selzing Miri, President, NAAE

 

 

The re-elected president of the National Association of Air Traffic Engineers (NAAE) Engr. Selzing Miri has promised the association’s better and stronger collaboration with the management of the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) for enhanced working relationship.

In his acceptance speech after being sworn in for second term, Miri said he will prioritise training and retraining of engineers , provision of working tools, upgrade of facilities and funding in his agenda.

He noted that with conducive environment, resources and good working relationship with the management, engineers could surpass expectations in their duties adding, that the members were hard working but were limited in terms of performance due to inadequate training and facilities.

The NAAE president promised to consolidate on his past achievements and experience in order to take the association to a greater height.

Earlier, at the Annual General Meeting, members of the association at the weekend, called for more funding for NAMA in a bid to improve the functionality of Navigational aids across the country.

Miri  said other aviation agencies also need increased funding in order to meet up with the emerging technologies, lamenting that the 50 percent Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) deduction has negatively impacted performance of agencies in terms of facility upgrade and acquisition.
