South African Airways (SAA) has put smile on the faces of the children of Arrows of God Orphanage home in Lagos to celebrate the annual Children’s Day celebration marked in Nigeria every 27th of May.

The South Africa national carrier, as part of its corporate social responsibility, provided food items including rice, soft drinks and special gift packs to over 70 children of the orphanage.

According to Kemi Leke-Bamtefa, South African Airways National Sales Manager in Nigeria, the airline is glad to bring joy and happiness to the faces of the less privileged kids while celebrating their special day like their counterparts in more fortunate homes.

“South African Airways is always happy to contribute to the well-being and happiness of the less privileged in our society. Therefore, we are all here at the Arrows of God Orphanage home to show the airline’s support and commitment to bringing smiles to the faces of children, particularly in this special occasion of Children’s Day,” she explained.

For over seven years, South African Airways have adopted Arrows of God Orphanage to specifically care for the children as well as the guardians of the home through food and material donations; special movie outings; celebrations and more.

Aside the food and other gift items presented by the airline, the kids were also engaged in several fun activities including dancing, thug of war, mannequin challenge, bouncing castle and more.

David Ogo, Director of Arrows of God Orphanage while thanking South African Airways for its continuous support said, “South African Airways has contributed immensely to the home as year after year the airline keeps providing us massive support.”

“I can see all the kids smiling. This is what they love basically. We are happy that South African Airways is here to do this and we are very happy today because the kids are happy. The airline has put smiles on our faces,” Ogo stated.

The Arrows of God orphanage was founded in 1998 by Reverend Lieutenant Colonel Deborah Chinwe Ogo (Rtd.).

The orphanage has three branches, two in Lagos and one in Onitsha, Nigeria.
