Aero Contractors has paid a condolence visit to the Nigerian Air Force following the tragic loss of personnel and passengers in the Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft accident at Igbokoda, Ondo State, on Monday.

The visit, which took place on Wednesday, saw members of the Aero Contractors team make a solemn walk to the Nigerian Air Force Base along Airport Road, Lagos, where the airline formally conveyed its deepest sympathies to the Chief of the Air Staff, the Nigerian Air Force, and the families, colleagues and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the tragedy.

The visit took place during Aero Contractors’ ongoing Customer Service Week activities, which the airline paused as a mark of respect and solidarity with the Nigerian Air Force and the nation during this period of mourning.

Aero Contractors said the gesture reflects its belief that service and humanity extend beyond the customer experience and that, particularly within the aviation community, organisations must stand together in moments of both achievement and profound loss.

“Going the extra mile is not only about how we serve our customers. It is also about showing up, standing with one another and being present when it matters most.”

In his condolence message, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Aero Contractors, Capt. Ado Sanusi expressed his personal sympathy to the bereaved families and the Nigerian Air Force.

“This is an extremely painful moment for the Nigerian Air Force, for the families affected and indeed for our entire aviation community and nation. My personal thoughts and prayers are with the families who have suffered this unimaginable loss, particularly the young families and children who must now carry the pain of losing their loved ones.
“I pray that Almighty God, in His infinite mercy, will comfort them, grant them the courage and strength to bear this loss, and give them solace throughout this very difficult period. We stand with them, we mourn with them, and we pray that God will continue to uphold every family touched by this tragedy.”

Aero Contractors also paid tribute to the personnel who lost their lives, acknowledging their dedication, professionalism and service to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The airline expressed its deepest condolences to the Chief of the Air Staff, the officers, airmen and airwomen of the Nigerian Air Force, and all the families and loved ones affected by the accident, noting that the service and sacrifice of those who lost their lives will be remembered with profound respect and gratitude.

The Federal Government has declared a three-day period of national mourning in honour of those who lost their lives in the accident.
As one of Nigeria’s longstanding aviation institutions, Aero Contractors said it stands in solidarity with the Nigerian Air Force and with the entire nation at this difficult time.
