Members of the Federal Parastals & Private Sector Pensioners Association of Nigeria (FEPPPAN) have appeal to the Federal Government to stop further mandatory deductions of 50% of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) revenue into the Single Treasury Account and five percent deductions from FAAN collected revenue and remitted to Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB)
Rising from a meeting of FEPPPAN all chairmen and secretaries held in Enugu, the body noted that the indiscriminate deductions will not allow FAAN to meet its statutory obligations to the public, staff and pensioners.
In a statement signed by the duo of Chief Abah John and Comrade Emeka Njoku, national chairman and national secretary/administration respectively, the association called on the management of FAAN to respect the agreement reached on medical treatment for pensioners.
While commending FAAN for paying pensions as at when due, the body condemned fraudulent act in the system and vowed to expose such act to the authority ranging from revenue collection points, mismanagement of fund among others.
I’m another development, the FEPPPAN national office was advised to commence the development of their structure at the union piece of land in the airport, to avoid encroachment of the land and urged the management of FAAN to embark on more developmental projects.
They congratulated the national officers and pensioners of FAAN for a successful migration to FEPPPAN from NUP, in accordance with Federal Trade Union Act establishing same.
