East African carrier, RwandAir has successfully completed the registration by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) on Safe Ground Operations (ISAGO).

It has therefore, bagged the ISAGO certification.

The certification was given to the airline after completing the auditing process on the airline conducted by WAKE-QA, an IATA approved  in July, with minimal findings and observation.

ISAGO is an IATA standard and structured audit program for ground services providers that was modelled on the success of IOSA .

Speaking on the development, the Chief Executive Officer of RwandAir, John Mirenge said, “With this achievement, RwandAir will provide enhanced ground-handling services with high safety standards to its customer airlines and private jets operating at Kigali International Airport, while maximising productivity.

“This would not have been possible without the dedicated, tireless, hard work of the RwandAir staff” , he added.

The audit uses internationally-recognised ground operational standards that are aimed at reducing risk and cost as well as minimizing damages and incidents.

The pursuit of the ISAGO certification, in addition to the existing IOSA certification, confirms RwandAir’s commitment to the industry best practices in operational safety to a world-class level.

From Kigali, the heart of its hub, RwandAir as an IATA member airline, reaches out to 19 cities in Western, Eastern and Southern Africa and the Middle East.

RwandAir operates one of the youngest fleet in Africa and is well reputed for an excellent on time performance, safety and customer services.
