Brand New RwandAir A330–200 Series Aircraft takes off for its final test flight in Toulouse, France, yesterday, before the manufacturers handed it over to RwandAir officials yesterday. The plane is expected to touch down at Kigali International Airport today.

With the deployment of an A330-200 aircraft on the Lagos route by October 2016, East African carrier, Rwandair is set to change the face of business on that route as the aircraft comes with varieties of customers’ choice.

 

 

Ibiyemi Odusi, country commercial manager for the airline, said at an engagement with travel partners on Tuesday that the aircraft, which is due to arrive Lagos on October 8, has amenities such as full flat beds and personalised in-flight entertainment.

With the ccabin having state-of-the-art art amenities, Rwandair customers are in for a smooth flight to and from the route and beyond as the airline says the mobile Onair facility on bard will enable its customers have access to mails, send and receive mails.

 

According to her, ‘you can talk, mail, chat and send your business mails while on air with the mobile onair facility’.

 

Meanwhile, RwandAir officially on Tuesday, laid claim to the brand new Airbus 330-200, proudly nicknamed ‘Ubumwe’, meaning: unity.

 

The aircraft is the first of its kind in East Africa and will help boost RwandAir’s capacity to expand its wings globally, the airline’s Chief Executive, John Mirenge told ‘The New Times’ in Toulouse, France.

 

The aircraft, with a capacity of 244 passengers, is expected to touch down at Kigali International Airport at exactly 11am today, with more than 80 passengers on board.

 

Meanwhile in Lagos, Odusi reminded the its partners and customers that Rwand Air is the only airline that can take them direct to Kigali from Lagos without hassles, adding that on time performance was also key to their business.

 

She said since the past five years, when the airline commenced operations into Lagos, it has not cancelled any flight, adding that even-though, their fares are not the cheapest, it is also not the most expensive as it offers services beyond expectations.

 

“Our fares are competitive, our products are not inferior, it is not the cheapest and not the highest, we have technical partners for our aircraft. We also need to tell you to visit places in Rwanda because the country has gone beyond genocide.

 

Odusi disclosed that the airline already in talks with a domestic carrier in order to interline and give its passengers seamless distribution.

 

She added that the location of Kigali allows for even distribution of passengers across its networks adding that the airline is safe, reliable and extra comfortable.

 

She disclosed further that there are currently some promotions and incentives such as : sell five tickets and get N5, 000 voucher to all destinations, extra bag allowance in business class, among others.
