The Nigeria Aviation (NIGAV) Award Committee has announced that the 15th edition of the Nigeria Aviation Awards and Ministerial Dinner will hold on 17 April, 2026, starting at 2 PM at the NIGAV Centre, Murtala Muhammed International Airport,, Ikeja, Lagos.
For the past 15 years, the NIGAV Award has provided a consistent platform for promoting best practices, industry harmony, healthy competition, and growth within Nigeria’s aviation sector.
The annual event features the Aviation Yearly Report, the crowning of the King and Queen of the Air, a charity fundraiser for the aviation community, and awards recognising outstanding performers across all levels of aviation excellence.
Nigeria’s aviation excellence merits recognition and accolades for its achievements in innovation, operations, and leadership, spanning internal industry performance to external contributions that promote a safe, secure, and customer-focused air transport service. These awards help to boost morale, improve reputation, and set benchmarks for success.
According to Fortune Idu, organiser of the event, this year’s theme, ‘Industry Rebirth’, reflects renewed hope for the sector as it celebrate notable progress, including the consolidation of aircraft leasing, the anticipated upgrade of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, increased inter-modal connectivity to airports, improved fleet and route services, among others.
The award results, released after an intensive nomination and voting process, show renewed confidence in the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Barr. Festus Keyamo, who won Special Industry Recognition in the Aviation Leadership Excellence category as an All—Time Champion of Aviation Growth.
The best aviation supporting Governor was won by H.E Peter Mbah, Executive Governor of Enugu State, Aviation CEO of the years award goes to Captain Chris O. Najomo, DGCA/CEO, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). This year’s aviation personality of the year award was won by Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
