Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) is partnering with Delta Airlines to run a dedicated camp around the theme of Innovation with 200 junior secondary school students in Lagos.
The Delta Air Lines Innovation Camp will introduce the students to various processes and techniques that businesses use to develop innovative solutions to challenges. Participating students will develop solutions to real business challenges facing Delta Air Lines in Nigeria.
The students will be divided into 20 teams, and each team will work together to solve a unique innovation challenge in the areas of sales and marketing.
During the one-day camp, the team members, who will come from 25 schools from different regions of Nigeria, will have to adapt quickly and find out how to work together efficiently and effectively to create the best solution to the challenges Delta Air Lines will present.
Through this process, the students will learn new skills including problem solving, communication, team building and troubleshooting. The Innovation Camp offers an experiential learning environment for students based on real-life business situations. At the end of the competition, the winning team will win a prize from the panel of judges from Delta Air Lines.
Commenting on the plans, Mrs. Simi Nwogugu, Executive Director, JAN said, “We are honored to partner with Delta Air Lines to impact our Nigerian youth. This camp will help JAN students understand the value of innovation and how they can apply newly developed design thinking skills to solve business problems in Nigeria. Delta Air Lines is one of JA’s strongest supporters globally, so we are excited to bring that relationship to Nigeria to promote sustainable youth economic empowerment of young Nigerians.”
The innovation camp teams will be judged by Olaoluwa Bola-Sadipe and Olubukola Rokosu for Delta Air Lines in Nigeria.
