The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, is a higher education institute under the Aviation arm of the Federal Ministry of Transportation. Formerly known as the Nigerian Civil Aviation Training Centre, the school was established in 1964 to provide training in the manpower development and capacity building of the nation’s aviation industry.

 

Located in ‎Zaria, Kaduna State, NCAT offers training programs in the followings; Flying School; Aviation Management; Air Traffic Services/ Communication; Aircraft Maintenance Engineering; and Aeronautical Telecommunications Engineering, and course programs in Standard Pilot Course; Private Pilot License; Flight Dispatcher (Operation) Course; and Flight Dispatcher Recurrent Course. Others are Airline Transport Pilot License Course; Commercial Pilot License Course; Flying Instructor License Course; and International Flight Planning · Environmental Orientation Course.

 

Other Courses Offered by the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology also include Aaim-12 Advance Aeronautical Information Management; Abridged Aeronautical Telecommunication Engineering Certificate (AATEC); Abridged Airframe and Power plant (AA&P);  Abridged Avionics Course (AAVO) and Advance Aviation Planning.

 

As a manpower training provider in the air transport sub sector of the aviation industry, NCAT’s participation at the maiden edition of the National Tourism Transport Summit and Expo is no doubt a boost to the realization of the objective of moving the industry forward at national, regional and global levels.

 

the Summit and Expo is been anchored by the Institute of Tourism Professionals (ITP), in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Transportation, the Federal Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, the Organised Private Sector and Non-Governmental Organizations with the objectives of deepening the connectivity between Tourism and Transportation for maximum inclusive growth and sustainable development of the Nigerian economy.

 

The summit, which is being anchored by the Institute of Tourism Professionals, is coming on the heels of the 15th National Council on Transportation meeting held in Sokoto in August 2017, where the need arose to have collaboration between the Federal Ministry of Transportation and other government and non-government agencies, along with private stakeholders across the transportation modes, and the tourism and hospitality value chain for sustainable economic growth and development.

 

Participants at the two-day events will be drawn from major key players and stakeholders in the transportation and tourism sectors such as the air transportation; i.e. airlines, tour and travel operators, administrators of the aviation industry; the  maritime industry which includes sea transport, boats and sea cruising operators; Road Transportation including major transport owners, car hire services, uber, NURTW, RTEAN, Road Traffic and Safety Agencies including the FRSC, NPF,  NSCDC, Motor Insurance Cos; State Transport Ministries and Agencies; rail transport services.

 

Others are operators of the Tourism and Hospitality industry including tourism resort operators, National Parks Services; museums and monuments, State Tourism Ministries and Boards, Festivals and tourism events managers; Hoteliers, Restaurants and fast food operators; conferences and events managers; as well as service providers in the banking, oil and gas industries.

 

The Tourism Transport Summit and Expo programme will consist of Tourism Transport Summit, Tourism Transport Training, Exhibition-B2B and G2B sessions, Tourism Transport Ambassadors Award and The Gala Night.

 

The events as a whole offers a unique opportunity for policy makers, regulators, entrepreneurs, key players in both the tourism and transport sectors of the economy, investors, numerous esteemed customers and the general public estimated at 3,000 to engage in an All-Participatory discourse aimed at chatting the desired synergy, collaboration and connective inter-play between the two sectors for maximum economic benefits of the country.
